Just 6 short miles from our Kaka'ako shop, tucked into the Ko'olau mountain range, is the beautiful Manoa Falls trail. Hiking through the lush Manoa Valley is an adventure into the Hawaiian rainforest, complete with bamboo forests, beautiful tropical flowers, and my favorite- giant ferns (aptly named, these bad boys can be upwards of 10 feet tall with fern curls the size of my leg). Take a closer look around, and you can spot mountain apples growing above you and mushrooms peaking out from fallen trees. At the end of this .8 mile trail, you are rewarded with the stunning 150-foot Manoa Falls. This week, we braved tropical storms, muddy trails, and flocks of mosquitos to document some of our findings along this popular Oahu trail.
